Today’s workout was awesome! I was really feeling good, my back was feeling great and I just got into a groove. Recently I haven’t had much of a direction with my training and workouts and quite frankly, I’m ok with that! I follow Crossfit Linchpin on Instagram and saw this workout the other day that I wanted to do. I scaled it this morning only because I don’t think my back is quite ready for the 95 lbs snatches, but this was still a good one!

I’m toying with the idea of getting back into the running scene and running a half marathon. Quite honestly I’m interested to see how much I could improve my time now that I’ve been lifting, doing Crossfit and have lost 15 lbs. I’m toying also with the idea of a marathon, but I’m ont 100% committed to that. I always had a lifelong dream of running the Big Sur Marathon and now that I’ve been there in person, I know that I would love to do it. Of course it would be seriously so hard, but I think it would be such an amazing run.

My cousin also works with the New York City marathon organization, and has 2 free bids to the marathon for the next two years. I’d love to do New York just for the experience, but running another marathon is a huge commitment. 4 hours + of training on the weekends can get really hard as the weeks go on. But as my time with my full time position decreases and my time with Team WAG increases, I might just have the availability to do that. I also think that I will be fueled more appropriately, as I won’t be attempting to lose weight while running the marathon and I’ll realize that I need to actually eat more to keep myself fueled and healthy.

I feel like a half marathon I can commit to and could probably run one without training, although that’s not what I want to do. I love running. I love Crossfit. I love weightlifting. I just want to do all the things I love without being fit into this one bubble of “she does Crossfit” or “she’s just a runner.” I want to be the diverse one, trying and doing everything. I don’t want to be held to someone else’s expectations of what I should be doing. That’s why my workouts are all over the place right now, and I love it. I’m saving money by working out at home but still getting good workouts in. Sure I might not be doing sled pushes and muscle ups, but do I really need to do those just to keep myself in shape? No.

So I think I’m going to bite the bullet and sign up for the half. It’ll be 4 days before we leave for Europe, but I’m ok with that timeline. I have so many exciting things to look forward to over the next few months!
