I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas spent with family, friends, and good food. I know I did! I am so grateful and thankful to have such amazing family and friends to spend my time with. This Christmas and these past few weeks I have really been working on “being present” after almost finishing “The Untethered Soul.” Seriously, it is a life changer and I recommend it to everyone. Instead of being stressed about what event we need to get to next, if we bought enough gifts, if they were good enough gifts and what others thing of me, I am simply living in the present, allowing emotions, thoughts, and moods to pass through me and really as a whole feeling at peace.
Yesterday and Christmas Eve I ate WAY too many cookies, way too much fried food, and way too many rolls but I really enjoyed myself. And no, I’m not beating myself up about the foods I ate, or about the fact that I weigh 4 lbs more today. I am accepting it as it is and learning to enjoy this ride and each day that is given to me. I’m serious, if you haven’t read the Untethered Soul, you really need to.
Today I woke up and wanted to get a really good workout in. I had stopped doing Crossfit type workouts a few weeks ago, but missed them so I’ve started including them in my daily training, usually as the first part so that it warms me up and gets me ready to lift. I haven’t been going super hard on them because let’s face it, I’m not training as a competitor, I’m training to stay active and healthy, which I’m definitely ok with.
I can truly say that this was the first Christmas where I didn’t feel anxious or worried about anything. I enjoyed the day with each family member, enjoyed and loved each present, and felt truly fulfilled throughout the day.
As far as my macros go, I’m back on track today and sticking with my previous numbers. I know things will return to normal in a few days, so I’m not worried.
I hope you all had a Merry Christmas and continue to have a relaxing weekend.
