Frosted Flakes Chicken Nuggets

Easy frosted flakes chicken nuggets with calculated macros

Hey guys! I have a great new recipe that I tried yesterday and absolutely love! I was looking for a more creative way to make chicken, and saw in the Working Against Gravity Facebook page that one of the members had been making chicken nuggets. I was intrigued and decided to make my own.

I thought for a long time about what I wanted to coat the nuggets with. I thought of just using Shake ‘N Bake or even just bread crumbs, but I ultimately decided that I wanted something sweet on top of the chicken. Cue Frosted Flakes.

These are super easy and only take about 15 minutes to prep and then 15 minutes to cook. You can make BIG batches of them (I used 1.5 lbs of chicken) so that you have multiple servings for the week!

Ingredients:
1.5 lbs chicken tenderloin
2.5 cups Frosted Flakes
4 tbsp Liquid Egg Whites
30 grams All Purpose Flour

Directions:
1. Cut the chicken into nugget sized pieces. I like mine smaller, but you can cut them as big or as little as you want!
2. Using a food processor, blender, or plastic bag and your hand, grind the Frosted Flakes up into small crumbs.
3. Arrange the flour, egg whites, and Frosted Flakes in three separate bowls.Dip the chicken in the flour, then the egg whites, then coat in the Frosted Flakes crumbs.
4. Arrange on a pre-greased (cooking spray works well) baking sheet and bake for 12-15 minutes, or until done.

Serving size: 4 ounces
Macros per serving:
Calories: 189
Fat: 1 grams
Carbohydrate: 16.7 grams
Fiber: 0.2 grams
Protein: 28.2 grams

These again are so easy. They have that sweet crunch to them, and are decent on carbs but high on protein. These are definitely going to be a staple for me, paired with some ketchup or BBQ sauce!

  1. I love your site. I found you through Reddit of all places…although the IIFYM sub was pretty dead. I’ve been tracking macros for a few months now. I’ve always done MFP but now I’m trying to focus on hitting my macros. When I absolutely cannot plan ahead (vacations for me), I still make sure to hit my calorie goal and make healthier choices.
    Anyway, you look great! I’m considering contacting your coaches!
