Hey guys. First day off in 1 week here for me. I don’t know how but I managed to schedule myself for 7 days of work in a row between McCandless and the various ERs. I made it through the days, but today is a much needed day off.
I slept in this morning until around 7:30, keep in mind me and Mike go to bed together at 10 pm. Whenever Mike and I are home together at night, we always go to bed together. I just recently read an article that said that couples who go to bed at the same time have a better relationship with each other. So no matter if I have a day off the next day and can sleep in, or have to work, if me and Mike are home, we’re in bed at the same time. I digress.
I relaxed for a little while, ate some breakfast and then headed to crossfit for this:
3 E2MOM10 means: 3 reps every 2 minutes on the minute for 10 minutes.
My power clean weight was 85 pounds.
My power clean thruster weight was 75 pounds.
I continued with the WOD which didn’t look so bad, but once you realized that both movements were holding the bar above your head the entire time, you knew it was going to be hard.
I used 75 pounds because my goal is to Rx each workout even if it’s challenging and difficulty. Rx-ing means that you use the prescribed weight for the workout, picked by the coaches. Female weight is always less than the males weight.
I really wanted to do 75 pounds because that’s the amount of weight used in Fran (the benchmark workout) and next time I do Fran I want to Rx it.
I struggled through this though. I dropped the bar three times and the 10 pistoles were actually a “break” from holding the bar over your head.
But I did it, in around 6 minutes and my arms were on fire. Burned 630 calories. Can you believe that??

After Crossfit I went to the grocery store to get ingredients for Skinny Crab Cakes, which I found here.
I’m not sure why I thought crab cakes were a good idea for dinner. Oh wait, yes I do. My Mom texted me a picture of her and my Dad enjoying homemade lobster tail for the Super Bowl while I was at work. Yep, that’s where that idea came from. So I’m going to try this tonight and guess what!? It fits my macros.
After the grocery store I got to go to the dentist, where they yelled at me for not wearing my night guard, not flossing right, and not flossing. Always a win-win situation.
I finally got home and am now enjoying my daily cup of coffee.
There is just something about coffee that I love so much.
The rest of the day will be spent cleaning (which I haven’t done in about two weeks), relaxing, and watching House of Cards until it’s time to make the Crab Cakes.
This week is busy again. My next day off is Saturday and it’s Mike’s nephew’s birthday!
The goal this week is to get to Crossfit at least 4 times, if not 5 times.
I also have to travel Wednesday up north and I’m a bit concerned about the snow. Forecast is calling for 6+ inches. Oh lordey.
