I love days off.
It’s not that I don’t like working, but there is no better feeling than having absolutely nothing to do for an entire day.
Today one of my best friends, Micah might come over to bake some Christmas cookies and hang out with the Goose man.
Something about your BFFers that you just can’t help but love. No matter what, if you don’t talk for 3 months, the minute they come home from college (or law school in this case) you can pick right back up. And that’s what I love.
Anyways, I woke up this morning after sleeping in a bit because my last few days have been crappy with scheduling and traveling. I have also been trying to get back into the running scene…it’s so hard.
I’ve been trying with 2-3 miles at a time. I ran 4 on Saturday and in the middle of the week starting having some hip pain, pretty consistent with my IT band as in previous years. I took a few days off and ran 2.5 this morning which was ok. I’m obviously not going for speed, but just to get my body back into running after taking…Oh SIX MONTHS OFF. I stretched a lot afterwards in order to counter act this pain, so hopefully it’ll start to get better over the next few days.
I’m trying to amp up my running each week slowly over the course of December and January, because that’s when marathon training will really start. My good friend Kevin also gave me his old bike trainer, so I’m just waiting to pump up my road bike tires and use it to cross train.
In conjunction with all of that, I am attempting to strength train using The Daily Hiit, which used to be Body Rock.
The Daily Hiit is formerly known at Body Rock, which is still up and running. It provides a daily workout, only 12 minutes long usually but afterwards I am a hot sweaty mess like today…
Super Sweaty and Ugly!
The workouts though are awesome! Everytime I do one I feel like I’m going to die, and that’s saying a lot from a marathon runner.
I hope to soon post a marathon training schedule, once I get one figured out. By the way, Goose is so mad at me right now because I put him in his kennel because he would not stop running around the living room bugging me while I was trying to write this post. He’s currently pouting in his kennel, while I’m trying to finish this and watch New Girl. Anyone else watch this show? It is so funny!
Anyways, I gotta head out to the grocery store for some cookie goodies! Have a great day guys!
